Featured Site

  • Thanks to Dr. Paul Kopperman for his in-depth information about the history of the Holocaust Memorial Program and Kegan's quick run-through of the Holocaust Memorial site that promotes it. Please take a look at the site at http://holocaust.oregonstate.edu and pass the word on about this really great event.

CWS Updates

  • Derek provided a quick update on the progress of the Customer Advisory Group.
  • Derek presented the rough draft of the proposed CWS service matrix. This matrix includes a variety of different levels of service and any associated costs.
  • CWS has successfully moved a handful of sites to the cloud. Testing is still being performed on them, but the initial results are favorable.

Interactive Communications Updates

  • David Baker provided a sneak peek of some of the different potential layouts that we could see with the new Pine theme.
  • Mauricio discussed some of the technical details, including some of the obstacles this will face.

Futurecasting

  • InterComm & CWS will be piloting a new Open Lab model starting in the New Year.
    • These labs will include a team of technical folks including programmers, designers, & media developers.
    • The labs will be held on Fridays - 3 labs a month will be 1/2 day sessions and 1 lab a month will be a full day session.
    • Users will bring their questions and we'll work on actually building out their site right within the lab.
  • Drupal 8 Progress
  • Drupalcon New Orleans, May 2016 - It's time to determine whether you want to go or not. Good hotels will be going quickly. Should we talk about doing an OSU thing with different groups that are going?

Show & Tell

  •  Making Your Webforms Look Nice with Bootstrap - Bryan Mayjor (This was put off due to a time crunch - we'll have Bryan present at a later event.)

Web Fundamentals

  • User Based Testing
    • CWS Developer Cody Nivens provided a look into the different types of testing that are used in OSU Drupal.
    • Of specific note was Behat testing, which mimics a users activity on a website.
    • Drupal 8 will actually have a lot of this testing actually built into it.

  • Communicator's Meeting: TBA.
